Good News: Journal of Liuzhou Polytechnic University Selected as a Chinese Applied Core Journal

From News Center (Text & Photo by Wei Jiani, Vocational Education Research Department) Recently, the 2025 edition of the applied journal evaluation, jointly conducted by the Chinese Science Evaluation Research Center of Wuhan University, and the Engineering Research Center of Digital Publishing Intelligent Service Technology of the Ministry of Education, has been successfully completed. The Research Report on Chinese Applied Journal Evaluation (2025 Edition) has been officially released, and Journal of Liuzhou Polytechnic University has been selected as a core journal in the category of Comprehensive Application of Social Sciences (Higher Vocational College Journals).

The Research Report on Chinese Applied Journal Evaluation (2025 Edition) adopts classified comparison and multi-dimensional evaluation methods. Based on the whole-process knowledge service ecosystem of applied journals, it puts forward the PCSR model for applied journal evaluation, establishes an applied journal evaluation system with Chinese characteristics that is comprehensive, systematic, scientific and feasible, and builds an interactive and multi-stakeholder evaluation mechanism. It has evaluated applied journals in China, covering 17 major industry categories and 3 comprehensive categories, and systematically selected 80 applied authoritative journals, 340 applied core journals, and 458 applied core (extended) journals.

In recent years, Journal of Liuzhou Polytechnic University has remained committed to high-quality development, aligning itself with top-tier journal standards while staying grounded in the university's own context and keeping a close watch on local economic growth. The journal has keenly followed the trends in vocational education and regional industrial development, continuously refining its featured columns. It has developed signature columns such as Undergraduate Vocational Education, Industrial Culture, Industry-Education Integration, and Vocational Education Going Global. Recognized as a source journal in The Chinese Academic Journal Impact Factor Annual Report (Humanities and Social Sciences Edition 2025), the journal has seen notable improvements in its composite impact factor, Citation Index (CI), and CI disciplinary ranking. Among 648 comprehensive humanities and social science journals in the database, it has risen from Q4 to Q3, marking a significant leap in its academic reach and influence.
